Batman ’89 and Dark Knight ’08 Split Screen

This is riddled (sorry) with awesome scenes cut from the vintage ’89 movie and the Dark Knight trailers. It was originally uploaded in Dec of 2007, a bit surprising as this sort of thing usually gets around the interweb pretty fast. Anyhow, Enjoy!

Thanks for the tip, Kraz.

Grand Theft Auto IV: Midnight Release in Philadelphia

Last night, at around 11:45PM, I made my way over to the Gamestop on South St here in Philadelphia. I had pre-ordered my copy of Grand Theft Auto IV a few weeks back, and from what I heard, the Gamestop on South St was the only one in the area hosting the midnight rush for GTA4. I took this short video on my digital camera to show you just how long the line was. That’s my roommate walking the length of the sidewalk.

Geeks lined the streets, chatting excitably about signing to multi-player as soon as they got home, while the Gamestop employees attempted to keep things under control. I gotta hand it to them, they definitely kept their cool and managed to make picking up the pre-order an easy experience. With nearly two and a half blocks full of anxious geeks, I honestly expected mass chaos. It was anything but.

Bonus: After scoring my copy of GTA4, my roommate and I strolled down South St to the Wawa over on 2nd, to grab some snacks and soda for our upcoming video game marathon, and caught this little gem of failure.

Advertising FAIL, across the street from Maoz. That’s advertising money well spent.

All-in-all, a good experience. Props to the Gamestop employees on South St.

See you all on XBox Live.

Geekadelphia Goes To University City

This past weekend, Tim and I were invited up to Pod in University City for dinner with several writers from Crunchgear, Jaunted, and We Jet Set. Good times were had talking about Star Wars, geeky gear, and blogging. You can see some of them towards the end of the video. What’s up guys!

We decided that the trip up to University City from Tim’s place in Old City might make for an entertaining video, especially while riding Philly’s subway. And we were right. Pod is also a design geek’s dream. Cool furniture and some seriously amazing lighting.

Enjoy the interesting characters and hilarity along the way. You might want to adjust your volume here and there. Afterall, I am working with a $80 camcorder I bought at an electronics shop in Market East.

And be sure to check out our other video, a tour of Brave New Worlds Comics in Old City.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Franklin Menace

Tim and I were both at the Franklin Museum this weekend. There was only one key difference. He was a stormtrooper, and I was in the audience. A good time was had by all.

We’d like to say hi to our new pals over at Crunchgear, Jaunted, and We Jet Set. We had a great time with you guys, and we’ll have the video footage to prove it.

Tim and I did a quick Geekadelphia tour video that will be posted up soon. We go on an adventure through Old City to University City, meeting all kinds of characters along the way through the subway, walking the streets, and inside some of University City’s favorite stores… which we promptly got kicked out of.

Stormtroopers Invade Rittenhouse Square!

Why are there Stormtroopers attacking Rittenhouse Square?

The Franklin Institutes’s Star Wars Gallery!

Tim and I are excited, and will be taking a LOT of video over the next two days of Stormtroopers causing trouble in Philly. It’s going to be a good time. Enjoy the video, and check back for more.

The Road Warrior 4: Apocalypse Bicycle

The Road Warrior 4: Apocalypse Bicycle

I love the bike scene in Philadelphia.

I’d love it even more if the bike messengers battled it out Road Warrior style, like in Jay Broemmel’s video, Choad Warrior, where warriors in a post-apocalyptic world battle it out for beer. You might remember Jay from his awesome dragon bike creation.

Check out the YouTube video here, since Geekadelphia explodes every time we embed a video file.
