Video Game Inspired Corsets: Rawr!

Rawr indeed!

Head on over to The Vintage Doctor to scope out some very sexy video game themed corsets, including several that are video game themed, fromĀ  the Legend of Zelda to Super Mario Bros. They’ve got a wealth of other geek-tastic corsets available, even one with the Batman symbol on it.

Made from alternating Batman logo and yellow & black checkered print fabric, topped off with bias tape flanking the bodice, a light sweetheart-shaped bustline, two polka dot ribbon bows and silver metal grommets in the back so you can lace up! FULLY boned for support.

You know, I could have made a joke about them being fully boned, but I didn’t. Because I’m a mature gentleman.

Check out the Batman and Super Mario Bros corsets in the gallery below!

Never Forget: Keychains Honor Lost Companion Cubes

companion-cube-keychain

“I’d just like to point out that you were given every opportunity to succeed. There was even going to be a party for you. A big party that all your friends were invited to. I invited your best friend the Companion Cube. Of course, he couldn’t come because you murdered him.”

Curse you GLaDOS! Making me incinerate my dear, sweet Companion Cube. May you rest in peace, my friend.

Thanks to Etsy seller Don Solo, you can now carry a reminder of your lost Companion Cube with you everywhere you go, with these fantastic looking aluminum key chains. Check them out. Just thinking about anything Portal related gets that Still Alive song stuck in my head.

You can also get these as pendants, without the key-chain attached.

Pac-Man Ghosts Appear on Snow Covered Mailboxes

Love it!

Now if only we could get some snow in Philadelphia. I’ve been dying to make some classic Calvin & Hobbes snowmen in Rittenhouse Square.

Thanks to John Freeborn for the link.

Tetris Ice Cubes

For just $10, you can pick up your very own Tetris ice cube tray over at ThinkGeek, the one stop shop for every nerdy gift under the sun. Each tray makes a dozen cubes, and they’re slightly less violent then those bullet ice cubes Tim found last month. I give ThinkGeek some serious props for mentioning the one thingĀ  was already considering…

See, there’s nothing these ice cubes can’t make geekier! And we leave you with one final thought: Tetris Jello Shots.

They were one step ahead of me on that one. Take a look at the tray after the jump!

Jesus Saves: Before The Final Boss

I absolutely love this t-shirt, and In the spirit of Christmas, I believe its important to reflect on what Christmas is really all about. Video games. I know that’s what my Christmas is definitely all about. I’ve got a lot of serious gaming to get in during the holiday season, what with the new Prince of Persia (shut up Ben!) coming out and Infinite Undiscovery taking over my life lately.

Its available over on Cafepress for $23 – $30, depending on if you’re getting the women’s v-neck, men’s short / long sleeve, etc. These guys really went all out.

Uwe Boll Film Fest: Anyone Up For A Road Trip? Anyone?

I wish this were a joke. I hoped it was.

On the Downtown Independent website, Uwe Boll is getting his recognition as a “notorious director” with a festival dedicated to his “films”. I’d hate to give in to the fear of Mr. Boll and his films, because fear gives him power. The stronger he becomes, the worse off the film and game community will be. I’ve heard his films are in the “so bad they’re good” category but I’ll stay away from his library of work. The good news for us Philadelphians is that this festival is happening in Los Angeles, so we’re safe. Or are we?

P.S. – That movie trailer linked in above features music from Batman Begins. WTF Uwe Boll?

Shhh Don’t Cry: We’re Back Online

Sorry for the errors. Our host was down for the weekend due to some maintenance.

We’ll be back to rambling about videogames, comic books, and Battlestar Galactica in no time.

Mirror’s Edge: Now in 2D!

To be quite honest, I’ve yet to play the actual 3D version of Mirror’s Edge. I’ve been too busy playing (and beating) Gears of War 2, Fallout 3, and Fable 2. But its on my list, I swear! I can’t wait to try out this supposedly innovative game, and throw up doing so.

Here’s hoping Mirror’s Edge is just as fun as the wonderfully charming 2D counterpart.

Real Life Mario Kart: Don’t Try This on I-95

Wow! Here’s a little pick-me-up for the Monday blues. This Remi guy is a true Mario Kart fan, no doubt about that.

Enjoy!

Half Life 2: Launch Your Gnome Into Space

Lately, I’ve rediscovered The Orange Box, also known as the best deal in video gaming history. I finally sat down and decided, hey, it is about damn time I beat Half Life 2, and the subsequent Episode One & Two. So far I’ve really enjoyed the experience, and its absolutely amazing to see how the graphics are still holding up. The detailed facial expressions on the NPCs are still great looking. And the game is what, four years old now?

While racking up achievements in the game is fun, I’ve discovered one achievement I will never… well, achieve. In Episode 2, you can carry a garden gnome from the very beginning of the game, all the way to the rocket at the end.

Tom Francis managed to complete this unbelievable task, and blogged the entire thing, complete with screenshots. His post is absolutely hilarious. Tom, I give you serious props. That’s some dedication right there.

Have a read, and go pick up The Orange Box. For $20 brand new, it really is the best deal on the 360.
