R2D2 Aquarium

If only this R2D2 was large enough to hold bunnies, I’m sure Tim would be all over this one. Sammy Davis Junior Junior would be placed inside of this guy with the quickness. And yes, he does have a rabbit with that name.

This super cute R2 unit is available via Hammacher Schlemmer for $130 and holds almost two gallons in his middle. Might not be a lot for an aquarium, but its still quite cool. Also, if you look into his eye, it can serve as a mini periscope to look inside the fish tank.

Have a look! This is definitely on my Christmas list.

Darth Vader Toaster: Butter The Dark Side

Man, we love us some modded toasters. There was the Nintoaster and that sweet guitar amp toaster. Now… well, we’ve got this.

For a little over $50, this Darth Vader toaster can be yours. Officially licensed and available in the Star Wars’ Shop, you can be making some incredibly evil toast in no time.

The Geeks Unleashed

Dustin strikes back with another Geekadelphia comic – this time it covers our frenzied activity surrounding the release of the newest Star Wars title to hit consoles – The Force Unleashed.

The story is damn good – almost good enough to be another full length on it’s own, and the gameplay is FUN.  You are meant to feel powerful, and because of that you are capable of mass destruction on many levels.

I was able to try it out on the Wii, and what you see here is my n00bishness in following on-screen graphical instructions.

I know now that you’re supposed to SHAKE it, not jerk it up and down.  Sorry…

My Little Stormtrooper Pony

I had this little gem sent to me over the weekend by Caroline and I totally want one.  Yes, I know what you’re thinking — A guy with a My Little Pony?  I think it’s ok, right?  I mean, it’s a stormtrooper and it’s totally crossed over into the Star Wars collectible genre where everything is fair game.

In any case, this modded figure was created by Mari Kasurinen, an avid My Little Pony customizer.  The My Little Alien and My Little Predator are fairly intriguing, as is the My Little Darth Vader if you want to pursue that Star Wars thing…however I think her best piece is My Little Joker (2nd Edition).  Yea, it’s a little disturbing, but that’s how you know it’s done right!

Star Wars Rubber Duckies: Luke Pondwater?

Star Wars + Rubber Duckies = … Ernie from Sesame Street in space? WRONG. That fun sounding combo creates something a lot more fun. Pond Wars Ducks, rubber duckies that look like characters from our favorite space saga, Star Wars.

The ducks sport LEDs (check out the demo on Firebox) that make them change color in the bathtub. Rocking names like Duck Fader, Princess Layer, and Luke Pondwater, these ducks are definitely destined for my bookshelves as collector’s items.

It’s only a matter of time before these guys are available at your local Urban Outfitters no doubt, or at least Brave New Worlds. Brian, order me some of these. Thnx!

Fun Fact: Pondwater’s box turns into a papercraft X-Wing. Sold.

Obi Wan Kenobi Tattoo: Spotted at Sex & The City DVD Release Party?

My pal Jason Smith, an extremely talented photographer with a very sexy last name, spotted this Obi Wan Kenobi tattoo while out photographing the Sex & The City DVD release party in NYC. Wouldn’t think to find that kind of sweet tattoo there, but hey, who am I to judge.

Good eye, Jason!

Use The Hemp Luke: Green Friendly Lightsaber Shirt For Hippies

Head on over to Ruby Red Design to scope out the specs on this energy saving light saber. Instead of using a plasma beam, which we all know hurls lots of chemical gas waste (that’s a thing, right?) into the atmosphere, this saber works on a green friendly bulb, making tree-hugging hippies everywhere just a little bit happier.

Check out Ruby Red’s wealth of other Star Wars themed shirts, including a Storm Trooper riding an exercise ball and a Star Wars Starbucks shirt. We’re going to have to feature him a lot more on here.

Epic Want: Custom Built Driveable Landspeeder

Daniel Deutsch is basically my hero. Not only does he have a car that looks somewhat like a delorean in the background, but he also has a drive-able replica of a Star Wars landspeeder. Daniel built this awesome vehicle in his own garage with fiberglass on a custom aluminum chassis.

It’s the same size as the original in the movie, and guess what? It’s GREEN. Runs on electricity and can travel several miles off one full charge. It’s a landspeeder even you tree hugging hippies will love.

Visit Daniel’s website for a full gallery of landspeeder images, complete with his custom built R2-D2.

Star Wars Bento Lunches: Taste Like Science Fiction

Star Wars + Food = Guaranteed Geekadelphia posting.

Rena, a Flickr user who goes by the name Vingt_Deux, created these glorious Star Wars Bento boxes for the LiveJournal Bento Challenge pool. And we are seriously impressed.

For those of you who don’t know, a bento is “a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine.” Inside you’ll find fish, meat, rice, veggies, etc, and they are often, as in this case, elaborately and beautifully arranged. Thanks Wikipedia. I was going to just call them Japanese Lunchables, but your definition is a lot better.

Have a look at the high rez images on Rena’s Flickr page.

Star Wars Lego Olympics 2008

I’m the kind of guy that has a weakness for clicking on titles like the one you see above this post. I fracking love Star Wars, and Lego, so why wouldn’t it be fun to see how they coincide with some current culture and events in the world…like…the 2008 Beijing Olympics?

Flickr user 713 Avenue takes us through a photographic adventure that shows just what it looks like for a Stormtrooper to win a gold medal.

Star Wars Tenugui (Hanging Banners)

I suspect ThinkGeek labels them as “Hanging Banners” for those not “in the know” about what Tenugui are. OK I’ll admit that I had no idea either…but now that I do understand what they are, I think they’re pretty freaking cool. They each measure 13.4″x35.4″ at $19.99. In a room full of posters and screenprints these are sure to stand out, and make for an excellent alternative set of memorabilia.

I was just telling Meg the other day that we needed new art for the walls – I think these will work. Right, Meg? C’mon, how often do you see R2D2 flying over Mt. Fuji!? I think that the stormtrooper one is worthy of hanging on its own outside of my office, too.

Chewbacca Mouse: Cutest Star Wars Plush Ever

Oh. My. God.

This adorable hand-made little Chewbacca mouse can be picked up for a little over $35 on Etsy. The House of Mouse creates several Star Wars themed mice, including Yoda. These clever crafters offer up free pins with every order and even make custom mice!

This of course leads me to ponder… can I get a custom made Admiral Ackbar mouse? Please? Mostly so I can find joy in the irony of placing him inside a toy mousetrap. It’s a mousetrap!

Couple more shots of the mouse after the jump.
