Dig Dug Pillows: Adorable, Non-Explodable

Dig Dug Pillows: Adorable, Non-Explodable

Crafter Manic Maiden, who might very well be the coolest older sister ever, made some adorable Dig Dug themed pillows for her brother as a birthday present.

Here’s hoping he isn’t a big gamer and puts them up for sale on eBay. Cause seriously, I want ‘em.

Nintendo Katamari: They See Me Rollin’

Nintendo Katamari: They See Me Rollin’

Wow, I definitely want a print of this. Artist Tom Preston managed to squeeze in some truly obscure references. Bosses from Super Mario 2?! And look at Luigi crying. Perfectly captures what a pansy he is. I don’t care how high he jump.

Anyone know who that guy is on the left next to Pikachu?

Take a look at the full size image here. It’s fantastic.

Wow!

Check out this beautiful Flickr set by artist Paul (The Wine Guy).

He’s amassed a collection he calls “IT Everywhere“. Unfortunately these photos aren’t actually real. They’re photoshop jobs he’s created. They look pretty damn fantastic though. Bravo Paul. Bravo.

Pac-Man + Samurai = Pac-Samurai

Pac-Man + Samurai = Pac-Samurai

Behold, the ancient Pac-Man.

Uber talented illustrator Jared Moraitis created this gorgeous image of a samurai Pac-Man fighting several Japanese themed ghosts. Prints of the illustration are available, on 11″ x 17″ cover stock paper. I just dropped Jared a line, because I have got to get my hands on one of these. Framed. In an Ikea frame. Perfect.

GeekArt: Video Game Controllers

GeekArt: Video Game Controllers

Artist Butt Johnson (that’s no typo) drew up this beautiful collection of video game controllers. There’s even an R.O.B. controller. Unbelievable.

Wish I knew more about the artist. What I do know is that I’m printing it out and framing it. Visit the artist’s official website for the full size image. The small one above does it no justice.

Thanks for the link Angel.

Optimus Prime Sculpture: Metallic, Saves Human Race

Optimus Prime Sculpture: Metallic, Saves Human Race

This awesome Optimus Prime sculpture standards a whopping 87 inches tall and is made out of various bits and pieces of metallic junk, weighting it at nearly 500 pounds.

It’ll run your pockets a solid $5000, and looks a lot nicer than the sculpture I made out of 500 pounds of junk. That thing was awful.

Center City Guinea Pig Art: Cute & Strange

As I’m walking to work this morning, I spot this little guy peaking at me below the newsstand. Sort of freaked me out, since without my glasses, I actually believed it was a REAL guinea pig sitting along the sidewalks of Center City.

Are these popping up anywhere else in Philly?

These are just three shots from Flickr user Skinny Coder’s stream. This clever photographer / Lego builder has begun creating glorious Lego images from your favorite video games. Some old, some new (the Shadow of the Colossus one is great), all totally awesome.

Have a look at his Flickr gallery, and enjoy.

Stop Motion Wall Painting: Illegal & Beautiful

MUTO a wall-painted animation by BLU from blu on Vimeo.

Wow. I can’t even imagine the effort that went into this gorgeous piece of work.I mean, right now there’s a new mural going up on South St near the intersection of 6th, and it’s been a work in progress for a little while now, with several artists working on it at the same time. The concept of a project like this one, especially when it’s a dangerous, illegal one, is just so staggering.

I know this video is kinda old by interweb standards, but hey, we post what we want.

Watch and love.

Thanks for the link, Mark!

Beautiful Pixel Art at Philly’s Craft Bazaar: Jude & Amy Buffum

This past weekend, I found myself wandering around Philadelphia’s Art Star Craft Bazaar, looking for gifts for family, friends, Tim, and my girlfriend. The Bazaar was full of wonderful crafts, all kinds of handmade goodness. Shirts, stuffed animals, screenprints, and, most importantly, Jude and Amy Buffum’s beautiful pixel art.As you can see in the video above, Jude creates some seriously gorgeous works of pixel inspired art. And they aren’t just limited to prints. He works with Amy on a line of toys called Bitz, which are Space Invader inspired plushes.

I couldn’t resist when I saw them, and picked one up for myself. More images after the jump of their fantastic artwork. Can’t wait to see these two more often.

Check out some more photos after the jump.
