Assassin’s Creed: Lineage [Impressions & Giveaway]

Contest Closed! Thanks for playing.
Assassin’s Creed. I absolutely adore this video game series, and when Ubisoft released the outstanding Lineage mini-series, I was psyched. Live action Assassin’s Creed? Hells yeah. You can watch the full thing for free on YouTube, or if you’d like to scope it out on the big screen in HD… you could pick it up on DVD or Blu-ray.
Assassin’s Creed: Lineage serves as the prequel to Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood and Revelations. In the story we’re introduced Giovanni Auditore… Ezio’s father. Hunted in the midst of a conspiracy (a popular trope in the Assassin’s Creed series), he’s forced to fight for his life as he tries to expose a dark secret held by some of the most powerful families in Italy.
This is a pretty easy Blu-ray to talk about, considering the entire short film runs a little over half an hour. What you’re really paying for here is the amazing digital transfer (it looks gorgeous) and a number of short featurettes, including some making-of clips and developer diaries. All in all, with the series and the features, you’re looking at about an hour of content here.
On DVD, Assassin’s Creed: Lineage goes for a cheap $10, on Blu-ray, about $12 . The cheap price point, the solid story, and decent mini features, make this a great purchase for that mad Assassin’s Creed fan in your life, or even for yourself. It’s definitely worth the buy if you’re a diehard fan.
Now, for those crazy fans still reading, I’ve got THREE copies of Assassin’s Creed: Lineage on Blu-ray to giveaway. Just leave a comment about your favorite Assassin’s Creed character for a chance to win. I’ll email winners sometime next week.
Requiescat in pace…

Leonardo da Vinci, of course!
Ezio’s Uncle Mario. Totally.
I’d be lying if I said anyone besides Da Vinci. Just too much badassery for one man.
I am still a fan of Enzio. Sorry I guess i cant get off liking the man character.
Altair for sure, totally a bad ass. Ezio seems a little too goofy and laid back, don’t enjoy playing as him as much.
I haven’t played the game, but I love the premise–trailer looks awesome!
I thought their rendition of Da Vinci was fantastic. Extremely witty. His comedic role really rounded out the gameplay in general. I love games that create really diverse characters. Draws you into the story a bit more.
I know the best parts were in the animus but seriously
Shaun, the snarky Brit on the team made the present
World sections a lot more fun to dredge through.
Of course that’s not counting the characters from Revelations
Leonardo da Vinci is my favorite.
I’ll always feel bad for Desmond. He was thrown into this whole mess just because he had relatives that were badass assassins hundreds of years ago. Cool to find out, but not when you’re a guinea pig because of it.
Geneology.com should have been good enough.
Altair- I mean, just because I think he’s the first mainstream Islamic character in forever (And he’s taking on the Templars? That’s insane!).
…And his costume is much cleaner/sleeker than Ezio’s.
I enjoy Machiavelli’s character, as he always seems deceptive and you can never trust him. You can almost see “The Prince” as being written by someone of the Assassin’s brotherhood
Altair forever! I enjoyed his adventures in the first game so much and I was thrilled to see him return in Revelations
Da Vinci is my favorite character
da vinci, for sure.
For me, it’s Leonardo Da Vinci! He’s truly iconic! and I think he’s fantastic in the game!
I would say Ezio in Brotherhood. He’s confident but not cocky and has all the awesome to back it up.
