On Tuesday, November 8th, TEDxPhilly returns to discuss The City. The event’s second year brings together over 25 speakers to share the challenges, innovations, concepts, and realities faced by cities and their inhabitants. The speakers include architects, educators, community leaders, urban planners, business visionaries, journalists, and filmmakers from Philadelphia.
The event will be held at the Temple Performing Arts Center. Attendees will hear from Geekadelphia favorites Marisa McClellan, Jennifer Pahlk, and Inga Saffron as well as other notable Philadelphians.
TED began in 1984 with the purpose of bringing together people from Technology, Entertainment, and Design during one-day multi-disciplinary conferences. Since then, a database of knowledge and inspiration has been compiled and placed online. At last count, there were more than 900 TEDTalks given at the annual and local conferences available.
Confession time: how many of you have suffered through bleary-eyed mornings because you kept telling yourself I’ll just watch one more TED talk? Don’t worry. We’ve all been there.
Tickets are on sale now and available for purchase at tedxphilly.com. Admission is $100 and includes an entire day of presentations, lunch, refreshments, and a post-event reception. You can also apply for one of a limited number of scholarships on their website.
