There’s no better time to go to Dorian’s Parlor than Halloween time! On October 22nd Dorian’s Parlor will be having its annual Grand October Ball from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Ormandy Ballroom of the DoubleTree Hotel (237 South Broad Street).

This event features a fashion show from a local “Latex Enthusiast” The Baroness, whose provocative pieces appeared in Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way!” Also appearing at Dorian’s Parlor is Alex Reed of Thou Shalt Not.

Not only will Dorian’s Parlor have these amazing performances, but vendors and craftspeople will be sprinkled throughout the event. The host for the evening is Steampunk author G.D. Falksen who recently published the fast-paced Blood in the Skies, the first of many scintillating novels in his Hellfire Chronicles series.

DJ Ghoul will keep you dancing long into the night, and lighting, sound, stage design, and production management will be provided by CircuitSix, LLC.

Admission is $25, and includes a drink ticket and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are available at TicketLeap. Philadelphia’s Doubletree Hotel is located on the corner of Broad Street and Locust. It is easy accessible from the Broad Street Line, Septa Bus 27 and 32, and a short walk from Suburban Station.

We have three tickets to give away thanks to CircutSix, LLC! So comment with your favorite Dorian’s Parlor moment and you and a guest could dance the night away at Dorna’s Parlor!

The steampunky band that covered Journey was kind of adorable.

For some reason, I’ve always wanted to go to this but never really get out to doing so. I’m sure one of these days, perhaps…

Dorian’s is always a fun event to attend. I should know, I’m the Mayor of Dorian’s on Foursquare. Not only are the attractions reason enough to go, but the people there are super friendly and won’t shun you if you’re not dressed in steampunk. Whether or not you win the tickets, you should just go anyway, and try to get your picture taken by Hugh Casey. Also, keep your eyes peeled for the really tall guy with a top hat that has googly eyes!!

My favorite Dorian’s moment was from last month, when there was a film crew asking to film us posing in mock fear of an imaginary monster. It was entertaining watching people think outside the box and not just do a look of fear.

Good luck to any and all who enter. :)

It would be nice to go. Show Circuit Six some love. They work really hard to make this happen.

Getting a hug from Steampunk Hello Kitty was awesome, as was Voltare’s sing-a-long at the anniversary party :)

I would have to say that bringing a bachelorette party to dorians then having the bride to be placed in the middle of the dance floor only to have the belly dancers give her a lap dance would have to be one of my favorite memories.
