Win Walking Dead Tavencraft Barware!

Geekadelphia recently snagged these customized glasses, etched with gory scenes and zombified imagery based on the apocalyptic Walking Dead graphic novels.
Taverncraft, a California-based company specializing in collectible geek glassware and tankards, just released this gorgeous line in December, conveniently around the season one finale of The Walking Dead AMC television series based on the comics.
While lovers of the undead won’t be able to watch the next season until the fall, The Walking Dead pint glasses are available online now at taverncraft.com. They come packaged in sets of two pint glasses, with each glass featuring a different bloody design, or one chunky 24 oz. stein.

Taverncraft is also responsible for these sweet sweet World of Warcraft collectible pieces and a complete line of glasses and flasks featuring Marvel greats like The Hulk, Spider-Man and Captain America.
Geekadelphia has a set of two etched pint glasses and a stein to give away. Just comment below with your favorite part of the graphic novel or TV series. We’ll select a winner at random sometime next week. Good luck!

Walking through the mob after spreading the dead’s guts all over themselves.
the part where they killed the zombies was great! (seriously i liked the part with the tank / in the tank / around the tank)
Dude the best part is when Rick is surrounded in the city and barely makes it into the tank!
I read the comic (way better) and by far the best part is the phone call… won’t say anything more than that in case they use it in the tv show.
GO JETS!!!!!!
“Hey you. Dumbass. Yeah, you in the tank. Cozy in there?”
I really liked the covering-yourself-in-guts approach to blending in with the zombies- something that I hadn’t actually seen in other zombie flicks before
Carl’s arc in the comic. I think it’s brilliant how he’s developing as he grows up in a completely hostile setting.
I would have to say when the camp is finally overrun by Zombies.
We knew the group couldn’t survive there forever and it happens so suddenly.
Shocking and well done!
When Rick apologizes to the top half of the dragging zombie before shooting it in the head! Makeup/effects were as realistic as zombie reality gets.
My favorite part is that the show is a return to cannon for zombies. Too often do we see established rules for vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural entities bent or broken (Twilight, obviously). Zombies are slow, shambling horrors that are tremendously efficient in large numbers and the show portrays that in awesome fashion.
The psychological effect that the apocalypse has on the survivors has to be the best part. Shane planned on rebuilding with Rick’s wife, but now we see his decent into madness as he is loosing control. The good doctor at the CDC, works to find a cure, up untill the last hour. And we can’t forget Merle, he was kind of nuts to begin with, but it will be awesome to see how nuts he becomes after being left to fend for himself. Cant wait to see what season 2 and the rest if the graphic novels have in store!
I’m not sure if this counts or not, but I love the new name for zombies… Geeks!
What a tough choice but I’d say Rick trying to get to the tank/horsey go bye bye. But aren’t all the parts with zombies fantastic?
In the graphic novel everything that took place in the prison was amazing. I really hope they translate that to the show.
The scene where half the zombie is crawling across the grass through the park, right after Rick gets out of the hospital.
I think my favorite part (SPOILER ALERT) in the books is when they’re in the prison. Specifically when the twins are found decapitated. The whole Prison bit was a total “WTF!?”. Loved it.
In general, I really love the Rick/Carl story. Being a dad myself, really gets to you on an apocalyptic level.
definetly the tank part! that was intense.
My favorite part of the Walking Dead TV series is when Rick and Glenn are walking through the Walkers trying to act like them. Ep 2: Guts
It was awesome when Rick shot the zombie i the tank and the ringing from the gunshot messes up the sound for a few seconds.
Also, the scene where Rick’s riding the horse into Atlanta on an empty highway and the other side of the highway is clogged with cars (yeah, the show went downhill after the first few episodes in my opinion).
@geekadelphia how can I win by default?
Early into episode 1: Rick making his way down a darkened staircase with only a pack of matches to light his way. Nothing actually happens -no zombies jumping out, no stack of bodies at the bottom- but it is still incredibly tense and suspenseful. Just one great great moment in a remarkably well-crafted pilot- better than most zombie-based features.
My fave bit was the escape from the shopping mall sequence, when rick camouflaged himself in zombie guts to get to the truck yard.
The part where the zombie ate the guy’s brains….I haven’t seen the show…yet.
Favorite part of the TV Series:
The sequence where the guys go back to get Merle – Rick becomes a leader, we find out Glen is a pizza delivery guy, and Norman Reedus is a badass the entire episode!
SPOILER!
Favorite part of the Comic:
The Woodbury story arc is amazing, in particular when the Governor crashes the prison
It’s a tie between the group settling in the abandoned gated community just before the thaw hits and closing one of the issues with Rick shouting “We are the walking dead!”
The suspense of the TV show keeps me on the edge of my seat. Never a dull moment!
I think the best part of the WD has less to do with the zombies, but more with the deterioration of society and how primal instincts come out in times of crisis. “You do not shoot the living” No matter how bad of a person that person might be… just because they are living, they are of value.
In the comic. Everything that happens while the gang is holding up in the prison. That was some intense writing, and It all goes to show that sometimes the zombie are the least of their worries.
I’m about to start the comics so i don’t have any favorites from that. But the tank scene from the Show was really good.
I’ve been with the books from day one. I think the show is doing a lot of cool things for being a mass market experience to lots to enjoy but the books we just do damn dark and doom filled. My favorite part was in the later books when rick and crew are threatened by cannibals. Rick had just had 3 major losses, two people and one limb, and he just get his head back on straight. The cannibals basically surrender to Rick, but he doesn’t care. He is fed up and they will be a threat until they are completely eliminated. Rick becomes one of the people he hates but he does it in the name of his friends and family and its a really heavy moment. Rick isn’t just superman, he’s also batman.
Also going with the cover in guts to fit it…good stuff
When Glenn provides a distraction by stealing a car and riding off with the car alarm blaring, he continues to cruise in the hills and you can see on his face the look of freedom. For that moment his life seemed normal and in a setting like that, its a powerful image.
Oh, it has to be the confrontation with the Governor. You’ll see!
Aaaaaaaand we just picked our winner. Thanks for playing folks!
