Win Passes to an Advance Screening of Sanctum

Say what you will about James Cameron, whenever the man is involved with anything involving undersea exploration… it is amazing. From the Abyss to his undersea documentaries, the man knows how to present the mysteries of the deep in a way that really resonates with audiences.
That’s why when I heard about Sanctum, which opens nationwide Friday, February 4th, I was very interested. Shot in 3-D, the film’s synopsis goes something like this:
The 3-D action-thriller Sanctum, from executive producer James Cameron, follows a team of underwater cave divers on a treacherous expedition to the largest, most beautiful and least accessible cave system on Earth. When a tropical storm forces them deep into the caverns, they must fight raging water, deadly terrain and creeping panic as they search for an unknown escape route to the sea.
Master diver Frank McGuire has explored the South Pacific’s Esa-ala Caves for months. But when his exit is cut off in a flash flood, Frank’s team—including 17-year-old son Josh and financier Carl Hurley—are forced to radically alter plans. With dwindling supplies, the crew must navigate an underwater labyrinth to make it out. Soon, they are confronted with the unavoidable question: Can they survive, or will they be trapped forever?
We have 30 passes for 2 for to a screening Tuesday, February 1st. Interested? Simply comment with your favorite James Cameron film by January 30th, and the top comments will be checking out Sanctum in 3-D for free. Good Luck!

The Terminator is my favorite. It has helped me prepare for the inevitable rise of Skynet
This is a tough one between T2 and Avatar. Avatar was visually amazing, but when you boil it down, basically Pocahontas + cool visuals. I think the scales tip in favor of T2, which was so action-packed and cool for its day.
Terminator was a great film, but Terminator 2 was one of the all-time great science-fiction/action movies. It really took the genre to a new level.
Titanic. First time I saw boobs on the big screen.
Gonna have to go with Terminator 2!
One vote to Titanic for NOT spawning an unnecessary and overblown 4th chapter whose plot is completed unrelated to the original trilogy.
Twelve million votes to T2 for being the most awesomely badass saga about a bloodthirsty immortal robot warrior.
T2. Hands down what could be the cinematic perfection of the action movie. Explosions, chase scenes, robots with evil red eyes, robots who care, judgement day it had it ALL.
Avatar was great, but Aliens is definitely my favorite. It had everything that made the first one great, only more aliens, a mother alien, and a mech-suit. The only thing that would have made that movie any more bad ass would be to add a cameo by JCVD.
Though fern gully wasnt bad either
Avatar. Mostly because I wish I could be 10 feet tall and jump on things like that. That and Sigourney Weaver is badass.
Aliens. It’s a fantastic action movie with a really good story. Cameron did a really good job of making the alien more agile and buglike. Also, his concept and execution of the queen alien, the hive and hive function is brilliantly executed.
He took a really good idea and turned it into vietnam in space, and it works really well.
Oh man, so many great movies but Aliens is like an all time megaclassic of supergood. Bonus points for having a female lead in such a badass role. The sentry guns, sweet APC, nukes, knives, sharp sticks, harsh language. brb, I have to go watch it again.
I would have to say Titanic. All the Leo mania of ’97 aside, it was a very well put together film.
I’m going with Terminator 2.. it just never gets old… and I can still remember how shocking the CG effects were back them.
So many greats…probably T2 because I’ve watched that more times than any of the others
Loved the series Dark Angel, even though it wasn’t a movie. Genetic enhancement is something I wish I could see in my lifetime, instead of just being able to select for arbitrary traits such as blue eyes. Not to mention Cameron’s take on third wave feminism was interesting to see.
l like The Terminator. It’s sci fi horror at it’s best
As much as Aliens and Terminator 2 were great fun and action-packed, I’m going to run with “THE ABYSS.” The “liquid beings” effects (pre-Terminator 2 liquid-metal guy) blew my brain socks off! That flick made me keep a sharp eye out for anything James Cameron.
The Terminator is one of the reasons I grew up to be such a badass.
I loved titanic it was a true story…..it had all the components to having a good movie…great story, acting, romance, adventure…..it was all around an excellent movie and very well executed…..
And an other vote for T2. T1000 is best T!
I would also have to say the first ‘Terminator’, because, as Jeff so perfectly stated, “It’s sci fi horror at it’s best”. Especially viewed in the context of the time it came out, that film kicked any other flick in that genre’s ASS. So good
The Terminator
Titanic
Rambo: First Blood Part

The Abyss

The Abyss
Titanic
Titanic.. great story with romance!
Avatar! It had blue people in it and I love the Smurfs!
TERMINATOR
thanks for the opp.
Definitly ALIENS. I’m surprised more people don’t agree with me. T@ would be a close second.
I loved Avatar. It should have totally won the Oscar.
Titanic was my favorite James Cameron flick.
Terminator is my favorite
Terminator. I got my answer by imagining who would win in a cage match between a Terminator, a Na’vi and the old lady from Titanic.
T2: Judgement Day hands down favorite of his movies.
I must say the Avatar , I love this movie.
I was stalling on twitter trying to find something to cure my boredom – and WHIZ – someone I follow tweeted this post. Now, I am not quite as bored. Thanks for posting nice material. – Frisbee
T2 JUDGMENT DAY!!!!!
