Dorian’s Parlor @ the Doubletree Hotel: Steampunk Extravaganza This Weekend

I want to ride a dinosaur into the past to have tea with Oscar Wilde. But apparently, all my plans to amass a fortune in the future so that I can hire a mad scientist to build a time-machine/pterodactyl-collecting-devise are failing/have failed/will have failed.
But we can all have the next best time-traveling, science-y, neo-vintage experience Saturday night at Dorian’s Parlor in the Ballroom of the Doubletree Hotel. It’s a steampunk extravaganza with class. Ballroom dancing lessons! Cabinet card photography! Steam fashion show! Dance party with spinning by the fantastical and handsome DJ Turing! A live band! Portraiture! And what appears to be the largest collection of neo-Victorian door prizes ever assembled into one location.
Holy Babbage, it looks like fun. Admittance also includes a drink ticket, hors d’oeurves, and entry into the fashion contest, because nobody wants to strap on their goggles and gears without fashion and fortification.
