Movement & Motion: One Night Art Show @ Brave New Worlds

We hope you were able to make it out to the concert this past weekend. If not, you certainly missed out on the awesome performances of Tim Hein, Case of the Mondays and Action Item on a picturesque, sunny evening. I also can’t believe we went through a total of three names (one of which being Technically Philly’s very own Sean Blanda) before we found our iPad winner! Congratulations to Geekadelphia friend and supporter, Chris Schmidt!

Moving right along, we’d like to announce the event for Mission 3 of Philadelphia’s Fiesta Movement! This one will be a low-key, one-night-only art show in the lobby of Brave New Worlds on Friday, May 21st. For this mission, we had to partner with Roxy (the sister brand of Quiksilver) to design a limited edition piece of apparel. We consulted Roxy athlete Jen Smith in order to design something that exhibited the fun, positive and active lifestyle of the Roxy brand inspired by our involvement in the Fiesta Movement.

Friday, we’ll be unveiling the sweet design as well as showcasing some artwork for sale from friends: Britt Miller, Steven “Fatboymonster” Rivera and Ed Hall.

In exchange for texting GEEK3 to 44144* you can receive a custom hand-piped Geekadelphia cookie, or a printed Fiesta cookie from Whipped Bakeshop**. You may also choose to do this and receive a cupcake from Open Source Cupcake‘s custom Fiesta Sculpture**!

There will be free drinks as well, so come on by and have fun with us on Friday night!

Join us,
Friday, May 21st from 6-9PM
Brave New Worlds (Lobby)
45 N. 2nd St. Philadelphia, PA 19106

As per usual, RSVP on our Fiesta Movement site!

*No weird fees aside from your standard txt msg plan.
**Limited to one per person or mobile device. iPad winners from the Mission #2 may be ineligible, depends on how generous we feel.

Remember kids, “one night only” means it’s gone forever if you miss it on Friday!

I’m there! BTW, who took that beautiful photo of the Philly skyline? Daddy like.

I just did a quick Google Images search of “Philly Skyline” – found this pic : http://ed101.bu.edu/StudentDoc/current/ED101sp08/znic/philly%20skyline.jpg

and added a bunch of adjustment layers, distort lens smart filter, & cropped it :)
