Burger King’s Best Ad Campaign Ever!
Burger King for my money, has always had some really interesting marketing campaigns. From viral videos with Sir Mix-a-Lot, to taking utter glee in their super creepy King mascot; Burger King is not afraid to take chances and possibly offend some people.
This latest campaign is nothing different, and it definitely got my attention right out of the gate being a huge horror fan. Their newest campaign by Dubai based agency Tonic, is using some of the biggest names in horror to let us know about Burger King’s new late night hours.
To tell you the truth, when I first saw these pop-up in my Google Reader I thought they were some great fan concoction, Photoshop Friday anyone? But they are indeed legit, and will start popping up in press and print pretty soon. I honestly have to say, using serial killers, albeit fictional ones is a pretty edgy way to sell some burgers, and might lead one to question, what is in those all beef patties? Which would explain the absence of Leatherface, I wonder if Wendy’s chili is looking for a spokesman.
See Chucky, Freddy and Ghost Face from Scream after the jump!

HAHAHA! Awesome! Is it wrong that I am WAAAY more likely to eat at BK now?
Agreed! I rarely eat fast food, but if it’s late night and… hey, the ad worked on me!
why do they always get the freddy gloved hand wrong???? it is on his right hand.
is it really that hard to get it right? I understand the drive thru is on that side but it is like someone’s parent decided to be cool and just fell short. more likely it was a generic corporate decision- “I don’t care what hand it is- he goes through the window and it should be on the left”… and is it me or does freddy’s license plate say “Dubai” huh?
Wow, these are awesome. I don’t see them lasting though. Well… just the Jason one. I live in Mississippi, which means if it isn’t good wholesome Christian/Right Wing fun, it don’t fly. They will get all in a fuss when they see the dead girl in his car. Unless these are just internet ads. I’m one of 50 people that owns a computer in this state.
The marketing possibilities are limitless! If they actually have the rights to these characters, I see a wave of collector glasses or figurines coming our way! Or a new slogan scheme? “Have it Freddy’s Way… a #5, King Size! (extra ketchup for the bloody look)
Kudos to Burger King though for doing whatever they feel like doing. Gotta admire their balls. You heard me.
Well I work at the BK Lounge myself, and I can honestly say that I never liked it before I started working for them. So far I’ve been there for a year and I say, “Well McDonald’s at least we use real hamburger meat instead of that half veggie stuff”
