Fan Film Friday: Left 4 Dead and Boba Fett with a Lightsaber!

Speaking of zombies, a teaser for a Left 4 Dead fan film started to circulate the nets this week and it looks very promising to say the least. I love fan films, even though they might not have the budgets of bigger films there is a whole lot more heart in the details. I am always amazed at the ingenuity of the directors to come up with a big budget look using almost no budget at all.

If you check out the film’s website, apparently they are still in pre-production, but once the film is complete they plan on giving it away for free. I highly suggest if you like what you see, dropping them a donation.

My other pick this week is an oldie but goodie Star Wars: Wraith of the Mandalorians. While I may have no faith in some of the current incarnations of the Star Wars universe, one incarnation that will always have a special place in my geeky little heart is Star Wars fan films.  These fan films are made with the love and reverence the prequel trilogy should have been made with and these are a whole genre unto themselves in fan films.

There is even a yearly contest held on Atom films, one of the pioneers in internet video dedicated to them; judged by the chinless wonder himself George Lucas. This one may have its weak points but it gets a lightsaber in the hands of one of the universe’s most feared bounty hunters and that is full of win in my book.
