Sunday: MakePhilly & Carrie Collins of Fabric Horse

MakePhilly is hosting their first meeting of 2010, and they’re planning themselves a good one.

Carrie Collins will appear as the guest speaker at MakePhilly’s upcoming meeting. Collins is the gal behind Fabric Horse, the local company that designs and hand makes all kinds of neat, recycled, fashionable merch. Old seat belts become bike lock holders, old bits of fabric turn into stylish bags, etc.

Carrie will give a slide presentation, explaining how she creates her products and how she launched her business.

The meeting is this Sunday, January 24th, and starts at 3pm sharp at the University of the Arts’ Terra Hall.

Like all MakePhilly meetings, this event is free, and they’ll have an Open Make, a show-and-tell-esque part of the meeting where you can share your current projects.

As for the Maker Challenge aspect of the meeting, you’ll be working on a wearable product, along the lines of Carrie’s work.
