Win Tickets to an Advance Screening of Legion and a Prize pack Compliments of Screen Gems

Legion T-Shirt

Don’t forget to get your entries in for the Daybreakers contest which ends this Thursday if you haven’t already. This week however, we have for our faithful readers thanks to Screen Gems tickets(2 per person) to an advance screening of Legion! 10 lucky readers will not only get to see the film before anyone else, but will also get a prizepack consisting of an awesome t-shirt and a movie poster as well.  I have been looking forward to this film since I saw the trailer before Zombieland and it had me sold after the first minute! Even if you don’t win you can check the film out next Friday the 22nd when it opens in theaters everywhere.

If you’re not familiar with the plot or haven’t seen the insane trailer here is a synopsis. “After God loses faith in humanity, the archangel Michael (Paul Bettany), who has become a fallen angel, is the only one standing between mankind and Armageddon. This time using angels to execute the Last Judgment, God’s wrath descends on Earth to exterminate the world’s population. In a desperate, last-chance gambit, Michael leads a group of strangers to a small New Mexico diner to protect a young waitress who may be pregnant with Christ in his second coming.” Pretty cool huh?

We will be picking winners on Monday the 18th and getting their passes and prize packs out to them.  The screening will take place next Thursday January 21st at the Ritz Five theater at 7:30pm, the prize packs will be sent via Fedex. To enter to win simply comment with your favorite film involving angels. In the meantime check out the trailer.

This movie looks like it’s going to be even cooler than Prophecy (obviously my favorite Angel movie). Of course.. it won’t have Christopher Walken… but it still looks good!

    DOGMA ..hands down :)

Jay: Yo man, tell me something about me.
Rufus: You masturbate more than anyone on the planet.
Jay: Aw fuck, everyone knows that. Tell me something nobody knows.
Rufus: When you do it, you’re thinking about guys.

I’ll throw in with “It’s a Wonderful Life”.

    Hmmm…angels, huh?

Does “Angels in the Outfield” count? Of course, not the 1994 remake by Disney with Danny Glover in it (bleh!)…I mean the original b&w version from 1951. :-)

Does Charlie’s Angels count? How about those Victoria Secret commercials? Hmm. Okay, how about Defending Your Life with Albert Brooks? The people who are doing the judging must be angels, right?

I’m a fan of Heaven Can Wait :)

Constantine coulda been a lot better, but I liked the character of their angels.

I guess I’m showing my age, but Angel Heart is a worthy nomination.

    It’s a Wonderful Life

I’m gonna throw in Michael, just based on its ridiculous-ness plus I love travolta

Oy, this is a toughie! Since I love angels and movies about angels! Two of my faves have already been posted: Dogma and Michael (I too, love Travolta, Sean Harvey.) The wings display were beautiful in both. Buuuuut I think my favorite is Fallen with a young Denzel, about the fallen angel Azazel. Besides, John Goodman reminds me of my dad.

Word up to The Prophecy! The original angel-themed rip-off of The Terminator. As far as I’m concerned this movie is a remake, I don’t care what anyone else says.

    Evangelion anyone?

  14. Tom January 12, 2010 at 10:40 pm #

    No contest.

The Prophecy… With Christpher F’kin Walken

  15. WC Wong January 13, 2010 at 3:01 am #

“Michael”, the one with John Travolta in it. Just because i like how humanized the angel character is.

  16. Dan January 13, 2010 at 8:34 am #

Jim you are indeed full of win and hopefully you will!

  18. Jared January 13, 2010 at 11:06 am #

    Neverwhere.

  19. Kev January 13, 2010 at 1:04 pm #

Dude, “The Prophecy”! How can’t you love Christopher Walken, huh?

  20. Kev January 13, 2010 at 1:07 pm #

Also, “Evangelion”. Not the usual angel fare, but still damned good!

  21. Rich January 13, 2010 at 7:55 pm #

Gotta go with The Prophecy. Walken makes everything cool

  22. Chris January 13, 2010 at 9:56 pm #

Would have to be A Life Less Ordinary for me. It’s one of the only movies I find Cameron Diaz even remotely tolerable.

  23. Stephen January 14, 2010 at 7:03 am #

Does “Angels in America” count as a film? Because you can’t go wrong with Emma Thompson flying around. Nott geeky enough? I’ll cast my lot behind all of “The Prophecy” supporters out there. It wasn’t a great movie but Walken is.

:O i have that shirt…. I GOT IT AT COMIC CON! some guys were in a ice cream truck throwing shirts.

  25. Tracy January 16, 2010 at 2:17 pm #
