Center For Literacy’s Freeze & Read

Philadelphia’s Center for Literacy, a non-profit organization that provided adults, youth, and entire families with a whole wealth of educational services, from ESL instruction to workforce education, are creating a flashmob in the Municipal Services Building Courtyard (aka the place with the Monopoly hat) this Friday, November 20th at noon.

Volunteers from the center will freeze in place for two minutes, holding books, in an attempt to bring attention to Philadelphia’s illiteracy problems. According to Philebrity, at least “five hundred demonstrators are expected to attend.”

Anyone going or volunteering? I’d love to see some photos of this.

Thanks for the tip, Philebrity!
