Ah, Zenkaikon! You’re back for another wild year of cosplay, anime video screenings, dances, and let’s not forget, all those crazy vendors selling swords, scrolls, and imported books, films, and video games.
The con takes place November 7th and 8th at a new location, the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge, not too far away from us here in Philadelphia. If you head over to Zenkaikon’s official website, you can access a whole wealth of information.
Luckily for convention goers, Zenkaikon is close to the King of Prussia Mall, so we’ll be able to avoid con-food. You know what I’m talking about, the food heated up in microwaves, by people with the audacity to charge $15 for some poorly breaded chicken fingers and soggy fries. Tickets are fairly inexpensive, as far as con prices go. $30 for a weekend, $15 – $18 per day. Correction: Tickets are $40 for a weekend pass, $23 for Saturday, $20 for Sunday. Thanks, Vamp Girl!
So panels, guest celebrities, cosplay tournaments… what are we most excited about? Personally, I’m all amped up for the video game competitions. Halo 3 & ODST, Gears of War 2, Super Smash Bro. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii… as well as a special celebration of Dreamcast’s 10th anniversary. Attending? What are you most excited about? Sound off in the replies.

Please quote things correctly.
Tickets are not sold, it’s a membership to the convention that you’re paying for. The costs actually are:
$40 for a weekend pass (Saturday and Sunday)
$23 for a Saturday only pass
$20 for a Sunday only pass
And I don’t believe that I’ve ever spent $15 on chicken fingers and fries at a con – I really think that is a total exaggeration.
Has to be one of my favorite anime cons, its low key, people are friendly and they usually have a decent dealers room as well.
Hi there!
Thanks for covering our convention! It’s good to see so many folks looking forward to it as much as we are.
Thanks to the attendee above for mentioning the correction on the prices – the previous ones were actually from our discount for pre-registering before Oct 6th.
Online pre-reg will be open online until November 4th (3 days before the con), and if you planning to attend, I highly recommend pre-registering. Memberships for this year are selling very quickly.
And although the poster above might have been worded things a little better, I will say that I have actually seen our concession menu, and it is pretty reasonable as event concessions go. I will actually be posting the menu to our website later this evening, so maybe I will post a link once its up.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing you guys at the con!
$15 for a con food meal isn’t that far off, sadly. I’d paid that much before.
Convention Fans is looking forward to attend this con as well!

So what am I most looking forward to?
As staff, I will likely be running around most of the con, but I am definitely looking forward to meeting all of the attendees. I especially enjoy talking to the people who are attending their first con.
I also love to see all the amazing costumes people come up with. *wishes she could sew*
