In October: Global Creative Economy Convergence Summit

Man, do us geeks love our conventions and summits. There was Game Core Con the other week, and we’ve got the Game X Expo coming up soon. And let’s not forget about Podcamp Philly! So many places to be. So much to do. And now there’s this Global Creative Economy Convergence Summit, or the GCECS2009.
This summit actually looks pretty good. The two-day summit will play host to a wealth of workshops and panels, most notably, the award winning videogame marketing guru Jane McGonigal, who you might know from the whole Halo I-Love-Bees viral marketing stunt. She’ll be delivering a keynote speech, entitled Inventing the Future with Game Design. Fun fact, she’s actually from Philadelphia, and some of us openly admit to having a bit of a crush on her.
Full registration to the Summit is pretty pricey, running your pockets a solid $225. However, this includes meals for both days, access to all the panels, workshops, tours, etc. The convention takes place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. To score some more details on the Summit, or to register online, hit up their official website.
