Made of Win: Javascript NES Emulator

jsnes

In a move that will surely impact productivity at jobs everywhere Ben Firshman has developed a NES emulator that runs entirely on javascript.  Yes javascript, while still in the early stages JSNES will allow you to play some of your favorite NES titles right from your browser, without having to install Flash. While running somewhat slow in Firefox and Safari, it runs almost full speed in Chrome due to Chrome’s high performance canvas elements.

Once you visit the JSNES website you select a game and control your game via keyboard. The game selection is limited, but all the classics are here – Mega Man, Contra and Super Mario Brothers, with more to come. Since it is javascript it even works on your iPhone.(but it is un-playably slow)I think its definitely an interesting project to say the least and an easy way to kill a few minutes.
