Marvel Comics is Proud to Introduce Obama’s… Dog?

You heard it here (hopefully) first, folks. Not only has Obama himself swung amongst the skyscrapers of New York with Spider-Man, but the first man’s best friend, Bo Obama, will be fighting evil with Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers.

Comic Book Resources reports that Bo, the Obama family’s Portugese Water Dog, will be appearing in issue #4 of Marvel’s Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers, which is scheduled for release on August 12. MSNBC was able to ask the series’ writer, Chris Eliopoulos, what his inspiration was for including Bo Obama in issue #4.

“It seemed so appropriate that we jumped on the bandwagon,” Eliopoulos explains. We guess comic book writers aren’t known for being discreet.
