90s X-Men: The Animated Series Streaming Free on Marvel.com

Weird thing about this is only a few weeks ago I was mentioning this fine cartoon series to my wife. Whom, was interested learning more about the X-Men due to the Wolverine movie, but had some issues reading graphic novels. I suggested this cartoon recalling fond Saturday mornings laying on the carpet in front of the TV watching this every week. It follows the storyline of the comics just enough that you get the main idea of who is who and what is what, without going into tremendous detail and having to purchase multiple titles to follow a single storyline.
X-Men the Animated Series went for a surprising five seasons(1992-1997) which was the longest running series on Fox next to Batman the Animated series, which gave them plenty of time to cover not just the main X-Men characters and storylines. But they also began introducing some of the lesser known characters like Cable whom back in the day was just the leader of X-Force and one of my all time favorite characters. I was not just suprised to see this was online but that Marvel.com was streaming it themselves and they had built a decent streaming service. Apparently they will be posting a new episode every week. So, if you don’t feel like getting the dvd sets that were just released of season 1 and 2, you can check the series out here for free.

This just goes to show how stupid Marvel is. First they wait 15 years to release these gems on DVD and then cut their own throats by offering them for free on their own web site.
