World’s Smallest Pacman Game

pacman

While searching on Google for some Pacman graphics (because I do that sometimes) I came across this amazing link. Simply put, it is the world’s smallest Pacman game. Complete with music clips and sound, I’m impressed.

Enjoy.

Edit: Apparently the original site went down. Here’s another link to the game.

Star Trek: The Search For The Perfect Poster

trekfinal2

There’s been many people complaining about the final poster for JJ Abrams reboot of the Star Trek franchise which was released via Myspace.  The general consensus seems to be that it sucks.  Some folks said they’d prefer one of those “floating heads” posters instead. Others have given it credit for trying something different but still think it’s unsuccessful. It does give off a bit of an X-files vibe. They could have used “The truth is out there” tagline and it would fit perfectly. Personally I like the approach, and I instantly picked up the Enterprise so I have no problems with it.  There’s only so many poster’s I can take of Chris Pine smirking at me. I get it already! You’re sexy,  I’m not.

However, if you were hoping for a different look for the final Star Trek poster then perhaps Jesse Phillips‘ version may suit your tastes… (more…)

Mayor Declares Today “Philly Pinball Day,” Installs Enormous Flippers

phillypinball

In a move that we here at Geekadelphia certainly didn’t see coming (you’d think they’d tell us — come on!), Mayor Michael Nutter has declared April 1st, “Philly Pinball Day.” Apparently starting at four o’clock this afternoon, “A large metal sphere will be launched along Columbus Boulevard,” representatives from Nutter’s office told us, “And we’ve installed city-sized flippers at various points in Philly.” After the metal sphere is launched and begins rolling up Columbus Boulevard, various “bumpers” will (ideally) boost the sphere into other parts of the city also outfitted with bumpers, resulting in “massive points.”

When asked how citizens should handle the situation if they encounter the sphere, representatives for Mayor Nutter told us, “They should abandon all plans and get moving.” That’s not much of a plan, now is it? The ball is scheduled to roll around the city from four o’clock this afternoon, “until the city’s out of balls — unless we manage a tilt,” said representatives. Good luck to everyone! And let’s hope next year we have a considerably safer Pinball Day.

Xbox Live Deal of the Week: Alien Hominid HD

alien_hominid

Xbox 360 owner? Awesome. This post is for you.

This week, Alien Hominid HD is available for only 400 Microsoft Points for Xbox Live Gold members. That’s just $5. Freaking awesome.

When I first played Alien Hominid it was on the Gamecube, and let me tell you, the game is insanely hard and wonderfully fun. I’ve never experienced a game that was as frustrating as it was addicting. You will die and start over. A LOT. However the game’s wonderfully drawn sprites, catchy music, giant bosses, and simple charm will have you coming back to play it again and again.

This is one deal you have absolutely got to take advantage of.

Pokemon: What Happens After The Battle

You know, I always wondered what happened to Pokemon after their epic battles. You’d usually catch a glimpse of Pikachu looking woozy or Charmander falling over with cute little stars around his head. But what did they look like back inside their Pokeballs? Artist Justin White attempts to answer that burning question.

The idea was to capture each character after a long battle recuperating inside their Pokeball. Or maybe I just wanted to imagine Pokemon in a lot of pain.

You can check out the entire gallery of beaten up Pokemon over at his Flickr gallery. He’s got nearly two dozen hilarious illustrations. And be sure to visit his official website as well. He’s one talented guy.

And on a slightly related note, this recent Penny Arcade comic about Pokemon Platinum coming out is hysterical.
