Philly’s Hottest Nerd: Vote Mark!

My pal Anna over at Shmitten Kitten, Philadelphia’s prime blog about dudes, dating, and dating Philly dudes, is currently featuring a Philly’s Hottest Nerd contest on the site. As of this post, you can cast your votes right smack on the homepage. No, Tim and I are not included in the mix. I blame the disfiguring hump on my back.

Anyhow, we here at Geekadelphia are casting our votes towards the A/V Nerd, Mark Schoneveld, and encourage you to do so as well. Why? While Shmitten Kitten compares him to “mac ‘n’ cheese” with “a mustache and a respectable presence on the Internet,” I’ve got my own reasons.

Here are my top three reasons why I’m voting for Mark Schoneveld. And why you should too.

1. He taught me how to love a woman, and how to scold a child.

2. His beard is a delicate combination of King Leonidas, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Pei Mei in Kill Bill, Sinterklass, the bad ass Dutch version of Santa, Chuck Norris (complete with third fist), King Tut (dude’s beard was made of gold), Steampunk Lincoln, Zombie Lincoln, and this guy.

3. He’s easily the most talented film guy in Philadelphia, and is incredibly humble about it. He has better taste in music than you, your Mom, and everyone that works at AKA Music. Mark has been one of Geekadelphia’s biggest supporters from the beginning of the site. He constantly sends me links and tips, and frequently Twitters out my ramblings.

You know, number 3 may have been several reasons at once. I don’t think there is any kind of prize, other than sweet bragging rights, but cast a vote. Just takes a click.

    Awe geez guys, thanks. That’s mighty sweet of you. Questlove is gonna kick my ass in hotness, though. He tweeted this out to his 61,000+ followers so I don’t stand a chance. Hahah.
