Snake? Snaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake?!
From the creator, Julia, over on Craftster…
This was what I made for my brother (a hard-core gamer). It’s old snake from Metal Gear Solid. I haven’t played the game, but I’ve seen him play it… does that count?
Look at that mustache of steel!!
It does count Julia. Nice work.

It’s funny because we do.
You can pick this shirt up in a wealth of fabric and font colors on Formula Works for $25.
Just don’t get the black shirt / black ink combo. I did that, and for some reason, I can’t see the lettering. Weird!

Yes, this is exactly what it looks like. If it takes off, I can see it becoming the 2009 version of Ecto-cooler. Mountain Dew’s Game Fuel will be featuring World of Warcraft-related labels much like the Halo ones before it. Naturally, Blue represents The Noobs Alliance, and Red represents The Horde.
According to Energy Fiend, these 20 oz bottles contain around 120 mg…a bit more than regular Dew. I don’t know about you, but when I play WoW I prefer beer or whiskey, so I probably won’t be caught buying a case of these sodas anytime soon. I might be tempted to try them at work though, because I know that one guy in sales plays an Alliance character and I’d love to point out how much better tasting the Horde-Dew is.
No release dates yet, according to the official WoW website, but I’m sure it won’t be long until WaWa and 7-11 stock them for all those late night addicts.

Alright listen, just because the movie is in theaters, doesn’t mean our Watchmen fever is going to die down anytime soon. In fact, the guys (and girl) of Geekadelphia are essentially the Bruce Dickinsons of Watchmen. We’ve got a fever, and more cowbell Watchmen content is the only cure.
Now, onto the post.
The folks over at Brickshelf have a great gallery up of custom painted Lego minifigs. They’ve covered absolutely everyone. From main character favorites like Dr. Manhattan and Rorschach, to minor folks like Dollar Bill and Moth Man.
Go have a look for yourself.

Head on over to Ashidashi to pick up a pair of these awesome looking Warp Zone Socks for $12.
Now you can jump into some warp zones like your favorite 8bit Italian hero. These puppies are thick and warm kind of like hiking socks. They won’t make you jump higher or shoot fireballs but they’ll be sure to put some spring in your step.
I would buy these, but I already have the warp pipe and bricks tattooed onto both of my feet. And yes, it does get me all the ladies.
Wow! Leave it to Hello Naomi, the queen of video game inspired cupcakes, to create something this wonderful.
You can check out some more photos of the cupcake wedding creation over on her Flickr page, which includes some close ups of the cherries and angled shots.
I’ll be honest. This is WAY better than my idea to have my wedding cake made out of 80 White Castle hamburgers.

So, what are you doing next Thursday night? If you can’t think of anything better than watching your Enterprise re-runs (or even if you can…), come out to Tattooed Mom’s on South Street for G2: Geeks who Game!
On March 26th, Geeks Who Give will be hosting Philadelphia Futures Game Night and Mentor Drive. Admission is a minimum of one jump drive or one package of school supplies (pens, notebooks, highlighters, etc).
The evening is in support of Philadelphia Futures, a local non-profit, that has been helping Philadelphia’s youth help attain higher education for two decades. They match students with mentors for the duration of their high school education, and provide academic support with tutoring, college visits, SAT prep and the like. They are “looking for a few good geeks”, mostly in the form of new mentors for their incoming Freshman class to support the city-wide program.
Games run from 6-9pm, and there will be board games to card games, and maybe even a few made up games (I’m hearing rumors about Werewolf) … And, of course, drink specials!

- $1.50 Pabst Blue Ribbon
- $3.00 Yards Philly Pale
- $3.00, Philadelphia Brewing Company Kenzinger
- $3.00 Hamburgers or Vegan Burgers.
If you can’t attend G2: Geeks who Game, but would like to be involved with Geeks Who Give, Philadelphia Futures or would like more information about either, please contact Kara at info@geekswhogive.org!
Game on! The Geekadelphians hope to see you all there.

You know what? I’ll admit it. Not only did I pay to see Alien vs. Predator in theaters, I paid to see Alien vs. Predator: Requiem on the silver screen as well. There is no denying how awful the movies were, but come on, they’re fun. And yes, I am eagerly awaiting a third movie, and paying close attention to the rumors.
These ads, created by DDB New Zealand, are, at least according to the folks at Super Punch, probably advertising the fact that Alien vs. Predator will be on television.
You can check out a third shot of Alien and Predator playing swing ball on Super Punch, as well as load up the full, high rez version of the ads. Desktop wallpaper? You betcha.

Some bits and bytes in gaming news.
Fable III Confirmed – Thanks to a slip up on Twitter. We knew it was coming anyway, but still.
Big Sisters in Bioshock 2?! – Game Informer drops some awesome news with their April cover. Nightmares tonight? You betcha.
Classy Gaming Covers – The folks at the Something Awful forums reimagined current and vintage gaming covers and came up with some seriously classy looking box art.
Custom Master Chief Mini Munny – Our girl Hawty McBloggy makes an epic find.
Stranglehold to Become Movie – A subpar game based on an awesome movie gets made into… a subpar movie? I guess we’ll find out.
Top Ten Canceled Games of All Time – Dammit all, I want Chrono Break! To hell with the rest!
NES Icon Packs – Awesome! Thanks for the tip, Cassidy!
The folks at Gizmodo are right. This is the only Lego Millennium Falcon construction stop motion movie you need to watch. Then again, I guess I really haven’t seen any others. Update: here are two. One. Two. They’re lame compared to this.
This twelve minute video by David Gunstensen is simply amazing. Watch, and enjoy.

At first I thought this was a way-too-early April fool’s joke. On the heels of some recent “streamlined” rebranding failures (Pepsi, Tropicana) I just figured someone tried to ridicule their efforts by doing something worse.
When I googled “Scifi Syfy” my heart sank, as I found nearly a hundred existing articles all published this morning that confirmed the announcement.
What could possibly possess a much-loved channel to boldly go and cripple their image? Who can we hold responsible for this decision? Read on as we discuss their skewed logic, in a futile attempt to understand why it’s not cool to be into alients, robots, and spaceships.
