Also, I'm a literature professor part time. I'm fully aware of the classic book by Robert Heinlein and what an important piece of science fiction it is, what with all the controversial political and social statements made within. So, there's no shame here. Plus, come on, Diz had sweet cans. Psh, I can love whatever bad movies I want. :) Come on, the special effects are awesome.

The only reason it shouldn't be purged from mankind's collective memory is to serve as an example of how best to not take a brilliant classic and turn it into a horribly acted, devoid of plot, not even entertaining "splodey fest".
