Street Fighter IV Fight Club NYC — Geekadelphia Attends

Coming directly from our one and only adventurous NYC reporter/event attender Jeff Walewski, an enormous gallery of pictures from the limited-attendance Brooklyn Street Fighter IV event this past Friday. He got to get his hands on with not just any Street Fighter IV but the as-yet-unseen in America console versions for PS3/360. He tried with regular old controllers (surprise surprise! 360′s D-pad is still lacking and the analog stick doesn’t make up for it) as well as the arcade sticks they had on-hand. He talked to the producer of Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and got a somewhat solid (though entirely unofficial) answer on when the game’s coming out (likely November) and he even got a chance to meet Ryu and Zangief in real life! Hit the bump for tons of pictures from the event! (And thanks, Jeff!)

I wish I would have found out about this earlier, wouldn’t have minded the 2hr drive! Do they ever have release party’s at university pinball?

It would be wonderful if they would host something like this in Philly but I can’t say that’s going to happen. The best way to stay on top of Capcom community events is by becoming a member of the Capcom-Unity website (http://www.capcom-unity.com). According to the Capcom folks though, there were a lot of uneasy execs over the nonchalance of this last event (not the safest neighborhood, in a basement, only 300 people, etc), but there’s been a real sea change at Capcom lately with regards to community involvement so I think there’s a possibility you’ll see more events like this in the future (even in places like University Pinball). The best way to ensure that is to tell them on their website!
