He really says that, I swear.
With Season 3 of Dexter just around the corner (the first episode airs on September 28th), we’ve teamed up with Showtime for a little contest.
Winners will receive Dexter – Season 2 on DVD, as well as a really cool large poster of Dexter on the cover of Wired. Everyone’s favorite “hacker” is right. You can scope out the poster after the jump.
So what do you have to do?
To enter, write a Dexter themed haiku. It can be about the show, the main character, his actions, serial killing, whatever, as long as it is in the traditional haiku five-seven-five stanza. When you’re done, leave it in the comments. (Thanks for the idea, Marisa!) The winners will be announced and have their winning poems posted on Friday, September 26th.
The deadline for the contest is September 24th, so get crackin’!
We aren’t the only Philadelphians who are excited about Season 3. Philadelphia’s own City Paper posted the Season 3 trailer on their blog, The Clog.
The first episode of Dexter Season 3 airs on Showtime on September 28th. For us Philly folk, it’ll be on at 9PM. Others, check your local listings for times.
Scope out the sweet poster after the jump, and be sure to leave your haiku in the comments! Feeling bashful? Email it to us instead.

Blood brother no more
True face not even I see
Emotionless still
The Dark Passenger
Strikes the heart with precision
Harry taught him well
I couldn’t resist even though I work for you guys so there’s no possibility of me winning. But Dexter is awesome.
[...] Not much to say, other than check out the contest details here. [...]
A lie to live by.
It once calmed a dark impulse.
My future looks grim.
A sanguine fellow
Has the guilty one gone free?
Never to be found
(at least not in season 1)
Painted fingernails
Sealed inside a block of ice
I think it’s a clue
(This one became far more humorous than I originally intended)
Prosthetics doctor
Helper of those who need it
Such a nice young man
A son needs a dad
To help him learn who he is
One rule: don’t get caught
Shrink wrap and duct tape
Don’t forget the plastic tarp
So many uses
blood flecked little boy
dark parent of darker man
slashing the slashers
dexter reborn again
miami ice delivers
harry still knows best
A Man Dark As Blood
Showing Evil What That Darkness Really Is
One Kill At A Time
Blood to acquire
They scream for me to stop it
If only I could
Oh, Dexter Morgan,
How I’m DYING to meet you!
No, seriously.
Krystine’s got my vote so far.
For all that I’ve done
A new kind of monster now,
Harry’s code no more.
[...] When you’re finished writing your haiku for our Dexter contest, pay them a visit and enter to win a copy of the new Alan Moore documentary. For those of you who don’t know, he’s the guy behind Watchmen, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, From Hell, V For Vendetta, and lots of other graphic novels people claim to have read before the movies came out. [...]

he’s empty on the inside
chop chopping calms the tides within; dead
love his sweet facade for us
I know what you did
because I did it to you
two wrongs equal a right
