Geekadelphia Events: October 2nd - Iron Man Release Party & Build Your Own Arc Reactor!
You read the title of the post correctly. On Thursday, October 2nd, The Hacktory and Geekadelphia are teaming up again to throw another lil’ shindig with the folks at Indy Hall.
We spend all summer swooning over the Iron Man movie, and decided that upon its release date on DVD, we’d host a party here in Philadelphia to celebrate. Now, it’s officially time to throw down, Geek-style.
Come over to Indy Hall on October 2nd to build your own arc reactor. That’s right. Courtesy of Far and his crew at The Hacktory, there will be a Build Your Own Arc Reactor class. We’ll have the instructions and (probably) most of the materials on hand for you to create your own, non-functional-but-totally-sweet-looking light up device.
After you’ve built your reactor with The Hacktory, you can than wear it on your chest while we watch the film and raffle off a framed, original theatrical Iron Man movie poster.
Snacks and drinks will be served, your usual hodgepodge of chips, pretzels, salsa, and the like. During the course of the night, everyone can toss in some funds for pizza.
Sounds good, right? You bet it does. The movie screening and event is completely free, however if you want to build an arc reactor, it’ll cost $15 for the parts. Please RSVP by emailing us or responding to our Facebook event.
