A Creepier Joker
/film reports that the early concepts for Dark Knight’s Joker was intentionally creepier, and would probably haunt the dreams for most viewers. The images are from The Art of the Dark Knight, something I need to pick up after seeing these.
Admittedly, I think they went for the best choice with a more tame version on Heath Ledger. The character itself was better off when Ledger added his own facial expressions to it, expressions that wouldn’t have communicated as well with this early concept.

definitely creepy, albeit more of a “Leatherface meets Metrosexual” look. i think i may have even preferred this to Ledger’s greasy green balding mop.
