So I woke up this morning with combination of hysteria and a burning desire for some bacon. I was also a few minutes late despite the 2 alarms on my clock and one on my phone. I found myself browsing through Neatorama again and realized that I desperately needed this product designed by Matty Salin.
He calls it WAKE n’ BACON and it works like a dream. From the website description, “This clock gently wakes you up with the mouthwatering aroma of bacon, just like waking up on a Sunday morning to the smell of Mom cooking breakfast. Unless you’re Jewish.”
I had to find out how it worked, and apparently a frozen strip of bacon is placed in the clock the night before. Two halogen bulbs are triggered 10 minutes before the alarm and it slow cooks the bacon, taking advantage of your ravenous morning hunger in order to wake you instead of using the conventional ear-piercing siren.
OMG. That’s amazing.
This reminds me of that episode of the office where Michael burns his foot in his George Forman Grill trying to master the art of waking up to the smell of cooking bacon.
I need this clock in my life.
“So what? I like to wake up to the delicious aroma of bacon in the morning… big deal.” The Office is great and so is this alarm clock!
