Eric Therner’s Pilen Concept Bicycle

So it’s officially Summer in Philadelphia! It seems to me that everyone and their mother is riding a bike to get around town, and rightly so (Bikes don’t run on gasoline). I’ve been shopping around for a solid set of wheels myself. Something light, good looking, and won’t ruin my manly parts. Granted, I’m not looking to pay top shelf prices for such a transportation device, I can’t help but drool over some cool new ideas some designers have posted recently.
Formerly a partner at ADDI (Designgroup based in Sweden) Eric Therner submitted his bold concept to Designboom just recently. It’s a collaboration with the Swedish Bicycle Manufacturer Pilen-cykel and it’s based on the 1930′s Lemans racers. Personally it’s beautiful. Check out those curves, those lines, and the styling. He’s combined the latest manufacturing materials and techniques with the newly integrated features in today’s bike market. LED lights and a two-part saddle that more effectively absorbs shock (Yes! Take THAT, potholes!) More Photos available after the jump!

man i wish i had money…
Wow! I agree!, Let´s drool togheter. Amazing, this is the coolest bike I´ve ever seen!!. Can you buy it?? I have to check pilencykel out!
Awesome! I would buy one. This thing is beautiful. For anyone with an interest in the board racer motorcycles of the 20′s & 30′s, the influence is clear. Where and when can I get one?
