Pac-Man Movie Gets The Green Light: Geekadelphia Asks, Why?

And unfortunately, it has nothing to do with this trailer.

Crystal Sky Pictures has been given over $200 million dollars to finance five films, which includes a movie adaptation of Castlevania and a sequel to the John Woo classic Hard Boiled. I’m actually somewhat excited about the Castlevania movie. While no one can call Paul W.S. Anderson (not to be confused with Paul Thomas Anderson of Boogie Nights, Magnolia, There Will Be Blood fame) a brilliant film maker, his movies are at least entertaining. Event Horizon scared the hell out of my when I was a kid and Resident Evil was a fun flick.

However, despite these two somewhat reasonable films (Castlevania, Hard Boiled II), there is a friggin’ Pac-Man movie on the table.

Seriously. Double you tee eff? Come on Paul W.S. Anderson, what are you thinking?
