I was at the DC vs. MK panel at Comic-Con and they said one of the things that Superman IS susceptible to is magic, and because magic HAS to be involved if two realms merge, Superman will be weakened by the "magic in the air." They were pretty self-depreciating, saying it was a sort of thin plot element, but it worked for leveling the playing field. Hey!
