The Many Faces of Steven Segal: So Much Talent!

With the two disc special edition of There Will Be Blood hitting shelves this week, I think it’s important to highlight other powerhouse actors. Sure, Daniel Day-Lewis may be one of the greatest actors of our time. You know this if you’ve seen Gangs of New York, My Left Foot, or The Last of the Mohicans.

What you might not realize, however, is that Steven Seagal is just as talented in his range of spellbinding emotion. Behold… the Steven Seagal emotion chart.

The Many Faces of Steven Segal: So Much Talent!

Truly, one of the greats. I think when I go pick up my copy of There Will Be Blood, I’ll get myself a copy of Under Siege I while I’m at it.

Steven Seagal in Under Siege = Hilarious.
Steven Seagal in Out for Justice = Cinematic Genius.
    Discuss.

Have you noticed that a lot of his movie titles are prepositional phrases?

This way, the trailer voice can say,

    “Steven Seagal is…
    UNDER SIEGE.”

    “Steven Seagal is…
    ABOVE THE LAW.”

    “Steven Seagal is…
    OUT FOR JUSTICE.”

    Etc.

As a pseudo-linguist myself, I think it’s pretty masterful usage.

Im a fan of Segal. Hes a master and studied in Japan.

His best movie is above the law. Best scene when he gets drugged up, snaps wrist bands, then snaps the guys head off.

Mr Degal. I really loved you in Fast Maction Dearo. Especially the way you put so much muscle onto your little body and even managed to put on a VERY thick Scottish accent. Just like that Swedish actor. Con Sconery.

    Mr. Seagall,

I have been a fan of yours for a long time. However, I always worry about your weight. A man your size and age needs to take better care of himself. Especially since you live such an active life style. Call the Dr. and make an appointment to check your heart, etc. And start watching wat you are eating. This is not a criticism. It is a suggestion so you can enjoy a long life with your family and friends – and continue working if you wish.

    Best of luck
