Stephen Colbert exudes “truthiness” in WoW:TCG
…Or so we had hoped. At least I did. OK so this is news to me…give me a break. I don’t exactly stay on top of World of Warcraft: The Trading Card Game news… but this happens to be something worth discussing.
Here’s how it went down. Upper Deck hired Todd Lockwood to produce artwork inspired by The Colbert Report’s Stephen Colbert. I’m not a frequent viewer of the show but apparently he’s an avid gaming and role playing enthusiast. Blizzard Entertainment and Upper Deck had hoped that he would feature such awesomeness on his show, giving them a ridiculous amount of publicity.
Tragically, Colbert’s agent nixed the idea without ever showing it to him for approval. Seriously. WTF.
For now, it only exists as a relic for fans and wow geeks like myself. For your viewing pleasure, here’s a higher quality version of the finished card, and the artwork in wallpaper form.
Fact: If any of you awesome readers happens to have a way to get Stephen to see this, you will become an internet celebrity.
