MakePhilly: Nintendo Video Art, January 20th

We’ve made it perfectly clear that we love artwork based on anything video game related. Collages, jewelry, origami, even legos. We just love our GeekArt.

Well, MakePhilly must have heard our plea, and have invited Don Miller (aka No Carrier) in for an awesome talk and experience. Don creates all kinds of visuals for live music events and funky art installations by hacking old school 8-bit NES consoles with custom cartridges. He’s done some fun work with Todd Kimmell’s Lawn Chair Drive In, and we’re excited to see him up close.

Dino Lionetti (aka Cheap Dinosaurs) will also be there, a synth player who composes digital music using a Nintendo Gameboy, and after the MakePhilly challenge, him and Don will delight everyone with a brief musical performance.

Meeting takes place on January 20th at the University of the Arts (333 S. Broad St), 4th Floor. Be there!
