GeekArt: Independents Hall Makes Shirts
Indy Hall does some great stuff. Along with their great co-working program, they throw some fun events. And now, you can sport your love for these guys on shirts designed by Philly artist Johnny Bilotta. Sweet.
Haven’t been to Indy Hall? Check them out on the web at Indyhall.org. And tell Alex Hillman we said hi. […]
GeekArt: John Freeborn’s Big Kids/Little Kids
Philadelphia artist John Freeborn, who we all know and love for his Skatefall game and massive milkcrate artwork, is heading out on a mini tour for his book, Big Kids / Little Kids. He’ll be visiting New York, Raleigh, Los Angeles, and of course, Philadelphia. This First Friday, hit up the 222 Gallery for his […]
The Philadelphia Experiment
While doing some research about the various warships and historical vessels sitting around Philadelphia’s docks, I came across an article about the USS Eldridge and a military experiment that occurred in October of 1943, referred to as the Philadelphia Experiment or Project Rainbow.
Apparently, the entire destroyer was rendered invisible to human observers, and teleported from […]
MakePhilly Idea: Bristlebot Battles!
Ever since I found out about MakePhilly and their challenges, I’ve been keeping my eyes open for fun ideas to bring to the table at meetings. And what could be better, then handmade mini-robot battles and/or races?
Check out Bristlebot. It’s a vibrobot that uses a cellphone vibration motor to power it along. It doesn’t take […]
WiFi Detecting Watch, Can’t Find Earthlink
You can pick up this nifty Wi-Fi Detecting Watch off ThinkGeek for about $30. It’ll detect wireless signal strength on a scale of 0 to 8.
It also has a world time clock, alarm, calendar, and a backlight. Not a bad deal for a fun gadget.

Nintendo DS Case for Rittenhouse Square Gamers
Recently, Hawty McBloggy, easily my favorite video game blogger, came across this lovely Nintendo DS case on Etsy.
I’ve already seen these in Rittenhouse Square Park, along with PSPs in Baby Phat, Jennifer Lopez, and Marc Jacobs cases. You might have seen me with my designer PSP case, which I made out of duct tape.
Few more […]
Wire & Twine Dissects the Wii-mote
My good buddy Rawle found this fine tee, called the Tii-Shirt, and gave it to me for X-Mas. What a guy. I had to find out more. Wire&Twine is a group of artists and designers from Cincinnati who do this fine line of goods for kids and adults alike.
Also, for a limited time they made […]
Star Wars Theme on Bagpipes
At this year’s Mummer’s Parade, Philadelphian’s are in for a treat, as the 501st Legion’s Garrison Carida plans on marching through the streets, an army of Storm Troopers led by Darth Vader. I’ll be sure to score some video footage for you.
Unfortunately, they won’t have a bag-pipe playing Darth Vader, or and TX5882 is M.I.A. (that noob is halfway […]
Abe Lincoln: Zombie Hunter
Uncrate is featuring an awesome Abe Lincoln Zombie Hunter t-shirt, which I ordered just before writing this post.
Here’s hoping someone makes a good Ben Franklin version. All we’ve been able to find is a zombie Ben Franklin, on a hundred dollar bill.

Mass Attack: For Those Who Can’t Afford Mass Effect
Well, Christmas came and went, and alas, my stocking was lacking Mass Effect, and instead, was full of useless items like deodorant and toothpaste. Thanks parents!
Luckily, I spotted Mass Attack over on Neatorama. It has a similar name, and has temporarily stopped my crying. Give it a play, it’s all kinds of addicting.
Mass Attack on […]
