Geekspace Friday Showdown: Tim Quirino v. P’unk Ave
The Geekspace gallery is a collection of work environments that belong to local Philadelphians. Every Friday we will present our kickass audience a showdown between two or more featured spaces. This week, just because Geekadelphia is my new baby, I decided to pit my space up against P’unk Ave. Observe:

So I tend to be quite the hermit when it comes to working at my desk. It’s not that I can’t play well with others (I can, honest! ) but I simply prefer to have total control over my area. I mean, it IS at home, so that’ll be my excuse for now. P’unk Ave., on the other hand…

…hosts art openings, the Junto, community meetings, and generally embrace our neighborhood and city! Sure, that may paint me as an evil hermit but hey, such is the difference in the creative world right?
Anyhow I’m a big fan of the open space, refreshment selection, comfy environment, and all around good times that they exhibit. Maybe I should open up my space to these things eventually… but hey, it wouldn’t be as interesting a comparison as it is now!

Thanks for the kind words. I count myself a pretty lucky dude to be able to work out of the space we have. Part of what makes it so great for us was that we were able to have a creative hand in the renovation process (which we were sort of in the middle of when that picture was taken). Definitely stop by sometime and check out some of the newer additions to the studio.
Consider me extremely jealous of those Ergotron display arms though…
Looking forward to future Geekspace entries!
No, no - the pleasure is mine! The Ergotron arms I got from a used lot on the ‘Bay… behold the power of the big auction house in the sky.

The P’unk Ave space is even cooler now than it is in that picture (though you can see that by looking at more recent pictures). Now, there’s a ton of natural light thanks to some gigantic windows, and twice as many desks on the floor. Yet, it remains spacious and open. One of the sweetest workspaces in geekadelphia, for sure and it’s inhabited by a totally awesome crew!
